So it has now been a little over 2 months since my breast reduction. The doctor said I'm looking good and healing well.
My breasts are no longer "sore" and the sensation to the nipple area is coming back fine. They are still a little swollen but that will go away. They are also a little pink tinted more than they should be, but my doctor told me that will go away in time too as the blood flow to the area gets back to normal. My next appointment is in 6 months just to check on them and see the scarring.
I'm so happy I decided to go through with the breast reduction. I was scared to death but I have no regrets and I would go through it all again to feel how I do now. No headaches, neck pain or back pain... no feeling like people are staring at my breasts all the time and I can finally get back in the gym!!
One of my biggest fears throughout this was how my husband would feel and react. He has been so supportive of me through this (even though he didn't want to see the gals go) and our intimacy is as great as ever =)
Here are some pics... the first one is the one I took at the doc today. The ones after it are from last year and this year before my reduction. You can see the difference. (3 lbs were taken from each side)
YAY FOR SMALLER BOOBIES!
Great to see you are back on the mend! I saw your first posting and have been following your journey ever since. You inspired me to also get a reduct that I have been talking about and contemplating for years. I have my pre opt and surgery scheduled and I am scared as HELL. My main concern is that they won't feel the same, I won't have the same sensations and my husband (who also calls them the girls) will hate them ( he is doing a year in Korea but is very supportive of my decision). I also have started exercising and since the beginning of Oct.I have lost 25 pounds. Please give me any advice or suggestions to make this easier! LOL
ReplyDeleteawesome!!! first, congrats on your weight loss!! and i was really scared and nervous too but i just had to jump in and do it...it isn't as bad as you are probably imagining..and if your husband is being supportive now, i'm sure he will be fine.. i thought my husband was gonna be "put off" sexually but he isn't and that was a relief..the biggest thing to overcome is the mental aspect =)
ReplyDeleteHi :) I Just had my surgery on tuesday(17th) and i believe we had the same surgeon, Dr. Curtsinger. :) I was wondering, How long did it take for you to be able to wear bras with underwire? I'm just curious.
ReplyDeleteI started wearing one about 3months after =) But it will really depend on how well you let yourself rest...the more rest you get, the better you will recover =) Good luck!!
