I went into
my pregnancy excited! I was excited about the life growing inside of me and excited
for meeting my child for the first time. While many women might experience a
little anxiety regarding childbirth and all that it entails, most women are
more concerned with transitioning to motherhood. One of the biggest transitions
I had to make was getting back to my pre-pregnancy weight.

My Morning Smoothie - delish!
Yesterday I bought a new blender so that I could start making my smoothies again. I find it to be cheaper this way than buying expensive meal replacement shakes. When I went to the commissary yesterday I stocked up on fruit (fresh & frozen), organic soy milk, protein powder and nonfat yogurt.
In my blender I used:
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup unsweetened organic soy milk (45 cals)
1/2 scoop 100% Whey Protein powder (70 cals)
1/2 cup nonfat plain yogurt (50 cals)
1 Tbsp chia seed gel (10 cals)
1/2 banana (53 cals)
2/3 cup frozen strawberries (50 cals)
*you can add an artificial sweetner if you want, sometimes I do, sometimes I don't..
Follow the links to see the health benefits of the items I used (you can also just google yourself to find our more than what I provide):
Soy Milk
Whey Protein
Yogurt
Chia Seeds
Bananas
Strawberries
Here are my pics =)
It's yummy =)

I've been on an herbal tea kick...
I love my yerba mate with ginger root!! Gets the fire going and gives ya a boost of energy. I have also been drinking regular green tea and white tea. All w/o sweetener! Three other teas I have been drinking are Yogi tea - green tea goji berry, Yogi tea - green tea pomegranate (which has powerful antioxidants) and Bija -hoodia slimming tea.... I love the taste of them all =)
I've been frequenting this all natural food store in town and I love it in there! It's where I've been getting my teas and I could stay in there for hours just browsing around and reading all the different things they have. I've been trying different teas since I'm trying to give up coffee all together. Plus, herbal teas are beneficial!!
Yummmy.
I seriously love them and recommend them to all tea lovers! =)

My progress with my weight loss =)
I use to be a thin girl but not so much anymore. Last year I found out I have a thyroid problem and that explains the extreme weight gain over the past 3 yrs. I’ve been on thyroid meds for about a year and a half. They are still being tweaked until I get to my correct dose and will continue to be tweaked over the years for the rest of my life.
To help me with my weight loss, I decided to see a weight loss doctor. I had my first appointment on 4/20/2010. I was weighed and my body fat percentage was calculated too. We also took a "before pic". Here is one I have from Feb 2009 at the ball:

So, on 4/21/2010 I started my "diet". For the past 2 months I have been counting my calories and keeping a food journal. I write down EVERYTHING I eat and I measure everything too. I go walking, which I need to do more, and I've started adding more exercises too, including: weights and resistance bands, my wave/step, and my exercise ball. June 21st will officially be 2 months and I have lost over 20 pounds so far.
Here's a picture of us this year, Feb 2010, on our way to Disney:

Here are some progress pics from the last 2 months:
