During our second session at the Marriage Retreat, we also heard a humorous take on how men and women communicate differently.

Inquiring Minds Want To Know (small rant)

 Today I saw two things that just kind of boggled me. One was in a group on Facebook and the other was on my Facebook page - *Army Wives Do It With Hooah*

The first thing I saw, that was in the group, was a woman posted a picture that had a little rhyme that said something like "twinkle twinkle little whore, close your legs they're not a door". Well someone commented on it saying this girl was a hypocrite b/c she supposedly said she had previously cheated on her husband (as revenge for him cheating on her).

Why do we have to be SuperWomen?

This isn't just about military wives...it's about women in general, married or not... Some of this may apply to you, or not... but here is my little 2cents:

Do you ever notice that as women we are suppose to have these superpowers that make us do everything under the sun and be all chipper about it? Why is that?!

For example, I know a wonderful woman who has kids and goes to school. Her husband works. This woman does EVERYTHING!!! She takes care of the kids, cooks the meals, cleans the house, goes to all of the kids appts for doctors & school, runs errands, does the grocery shopping and goes to school. Her husband? Oh he works and brings in the money, that's it. Now, I'm not saying it is horrible of him to not help with things, but is it too much to ask of him to show a little appreciation? Is it too much to ask to not bitch if there are a few dishes in the sink or if the kids are a few minutes late getting to bed? A simple "Hey babe, can I get you a glass of iced tea while you work on your homework?" would probably make this woman's day!!

Why do some men think that just because they bring home the pay that it gives them the right to act like King? Now, if he is treating his wife like a Queen, okay, he can be the King... but don't expect to get treated like a King when you treat your woman like a Peasant!!!

Me, I don't mind doing all the work and for some strange reason, my husband has been helping out with a few things, lol. However, he has his pigheaded moments ((and I love him still)).

I guess this just came from seeing so many women lately be upset at how they are being treated, or not treated, by the men they love. I don't doubt that these men love them, but I do think they have some issues on letting go of the "I am man, hear me roar" syndrome. Guys, if you're reading, it's okay to show your feelings sometimes!!! =)

Oh, and don't you know we're suppose to do it all with a smile and be happy-go-lucky all day? Now, while I try not to complain too much, and I try to be as happy as possible, there are some days that I am just wore out and don't feel like greeting you with a smile at the door!!! Seriously...lol

So, for all the women, married or not, you may not be SuperWoman, but I think you're super for all you do. I appreciate everything you do because I know what it's like to do it all!!! Much love =)

Encouraging eachother -

A lot of posts lately from the inbox on AWDIWH have been about men cheating on their wives, or the wives are suspicious of them cheating, or of men lying about small things or even big things such as texting other women even when there is proof to blow them right out of the water.

These kind of things in relationships almost always cause insecurities in women. There are other things that will cause insecurities too. Maybe when you were growing up someone made of you and said your nose was pointy (like me), or that your boobs were too big (like my friend), or maybe your hair wasn't the cutest color and someone made sure they let you know they thought that. Maybe your teacher said in subtle ways that you weren't the brightest in the class. The list goes on...

I completely believe insecurities are LEARNED, but I also believe that they can be UNLEARNED. Do you love yourself? I mean truly, unconditionally love yourself? If you don't, you need to.

When you wake up every day, look in the mirror and say, "hey gorgeous! you're gonna have a great day!". If your husband happens to be there and asks who you're speaking to just tell him, "the most important person in my life". Ultimately, you should be the most important person in your life. If you don't put yourself first and take care of you, you won't be able to properly take care of others.

If you don't like your hair, take control and go get it done! Do something different with it. A new cut or color. A small change can make a difference. If you are unhappy with your weight, get out there and exercise! Even if you just start out walking, it's better than nothing. If you feel you aren't smart enough, take a class and learn a new language or hobby.

Let's encourage other women to feel great about themselves! Tell your friends what you like about them. Send them an encouraging quote or an inspirational picture. Mail out a "just because" card and let a wonderful woman in your life know you are thinking of them and they are fabulous!! When we uplift others, we will also uplift ourselves...

Gossip ~ What you don't see with your eyes, don't witness with your mouth.

You know the gossipers. The bored women who have nothing going in their lives so they feel the need to make it more interesting by gossiping about others.

The lonely wife whose husband just deployed looks out her window and sees a man going into her neighbors house. She knows her neighbors husband is deployed as well. Instead of minding her business, she calls a friend, "Girl you will not believe what I just saw! Shelia has a man in her house and Rick is deployed. You know that ain't right, I just know she is sleeping around. Can you believe that whore?!"

We all know the scenario, or something similar. The man could be anyone. A relative, maintenance, phone guy, or even a friends husband helping with something.

The women who run their mouths spreading rumors about others cheating are just as bad as the women who actually cheat. When gossiping about things you have not seen personally with your own eyes you can cause unrepairable damage.

Worse case scenario: this "gossip" gets back to a deployed soldier that his wife is cheating, he is upset and distracted because he can't believe his wife would do this, he leads his sodliers out on a mission but his heads not in the game, next thing you know they're all injured or dead because their leader isn't focused. All because a gossiper wants to talk and run her mouth over something she knows nothing about.

I think it's sad and pathetic. The women who gossip obviously need a better hobby and should re-evaluate their personal relationship because they should not feel the need to be invested so much in someone elses.
