One Decade Down - several more to go!

Yesterday was our 10yr Wedding Anniversary. With my husbands work schedule we haven't had much time together and he left it up to me as to what I wanted to do. I didn't choose anything that would make you go "WOW".. lol... I chose it to be with my family, spending much needed time together. The hubs and I did a movie together and then we took the kids bowling. Went home and vegged out watching movies, snacking and having a few drinks. It was exactly what I needed.

A few days ago I took some boxes out of my closet and read almost every single letter, card & note. Found some old pictures and enjoyed the memories. My husband got a kick out of some of them too. These boxes contained all the notes he had written me during our first year together in High School, all the cards & letters from his time at BCT & AIT and I still have another box full of all the letters & cards he sent my during his 1st Deployment. I'm going to share some "snippets" from a few of my faves.

Here are 3 boxes and some "doodles" I did in high school.

"You are the love of my life. I'm so glad that we did the right things and made great decisions that will better us in the future. You are my world. If there is ever anything you need, it would be an honor for me to do it for you."

"Happy 23rd Birthday baby! I wish you the best. Keep up the good work with our lovely boys. I'm so proud of you for keeping your head up strong."

"It was so sweet talking to you last night, but please don't cry when I call baby. I know you miss me alot, but please stay strong for me. I'm sorry for not being there on your birthday. I know you don't mind that I missed it because I'm here doing something for you and our family. I love you."

"You are so perfect to me. I asked God what did I do to deserve a special person like you. I must've done something right in my life. I just can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together."

"You are truly something special. Thanks for all of your teachings, guidance and blessings. I love you."

"I knew from the moment I first laid eyes on you I couldn't let you go. I knew that you would be mine forever and that I will always be yours."

"I am a loving, married father and man now. And you are my woman. The lovely lady I want to spend the rest of my life with. In my eyes, you mean everything to me. You are my wife, best friend, lover and so much more. I couldn't do any of this without you in my corner."

"Dear Mrs. Fullwood, It's been too many times I've taken your love for granted. I'm sorry for that. You and our kids are everything I live for. Without you I would be lost in this world. I appreciate everything you have done for me, you're the best thing that has happened to me. I love you."

"I'm glad that you have changed your ways. I appreciate you a lot in my life. You're the best, no one else even comes close. You're truly a real woman. You listen to my problems, you don't argue with me when I ask you to do something and you put my feelings before yours. You are always so unselfish when it comes to your family. Thank you for that."

"You will always be more than just my lover. You are everything that I need in life. You are my salvation."

"The nicest feeling I've ever known is being in love with you."

Okay, I could go on and on, but I'll stop now. This all sounds wonderful, but don't let it fool you. We've had our share of problems and bad times, but we always seem to make it through. It's never easy, but it's worth it. We constantly have strains on our marriage with this lifestyle but it hasn't broken us. If you truly love your spouse, you'll find a way to get through anything. We have. I only hope that over the years, we continue to fight for our love as much as we have so far.

I made this about 4yrs ago. He was on his way to the sandbox for the 3rd time.

    1. Thanks! I can't believe it's been that long either! Time really does fly by and "milestones" like this put some things into perspective.
