They are out to get me....

All three of them.... my darling angels, or at this moment, not so angelic... it seems to me that my boys truly believe I love to hear them argue and fight. Well, now I think they know otherwise seeing as how on Saturday night they are in bed at 7:30pm.

My boys like to play couch commando and constantly want control of the television when they come in from playing outside. My daughter whines and cries that she NEVER gets to watch what she wants.... (you can only take so much of "max & ruby")...Then the boys go on to say she ALWAYS gets to watch what she wants....so guess what? NO TV!! Yup, tv is unplugged and it is so peaceful =)

I think I will play some solitaire while I have these rare quite moments to myself...

ThanksGiving Day ~

It's only 10am and I'm beat! I ran around like a turkey with it's head cut off yesterday and now I'm so tired. The turkey is in the oven and the timer is on. I think I'll close my eyes and dream of the hubs while only half sleeping and listening to the Macy's Parade and for the kids.

You know my kids want to go play at 8am?!! Damn, chill! LOL And my daughter is so excited to be going to stay the night with my friend tonight that she wants her here NOW...like RIGHT NOW! LOL...The kids are staying with a friend tonight because I will be braving black friday...yes, I will be one of the crazies out there lol....

I'm Thankful....

Another year my husband has missed ThanksGiving with us, but I will have some awesome friends over instead!

Here are some things I'm thankful for:

*I have a date for when my hubs comes home!! Yippy!
*My son Richard is amazingly smart and helpful.
*My son DeeJay has an amazing voice when he sings.
*My daughter Alexis is only 5 and she apologizes right away when she does something wrong or sees that she has upset me by misbehaving.
*My thyroid seems to be under control right now.
*Both of our cars are working...AT THE SAME TIME! lol

Okay, enough with the thankful stuff...how about some funny pics?

Anonymous haters...

If I have the guts to post how I feel about certain issues, the least you could do is leave your comments as a person, not anonymous. If you're so strong in your beliefs, why hide?

Don't choke on your bitter hater-aid =)

Much love and Happy Turkey Day!!

These four walls....

Do you ever feel like the walls around you are just closing in? My walls are and I feel like I'm suffocating, a bag is over my head and I can't reach it to break a hole in it so I can breathe...

Photobucket

Wall one... my kids....
I love them, I really do... they are the most important things in the world to me, but I am so tired of it all... sometimes I just wish I could go back to being 14 and innocent, playing with barbies still and running around with my friends, no cares, no worries...now I have 3 kids and they consume me... don't get me wrong, they are my loves, but when do I get a break? I know, I know.... never... but lately, I just need a break...

Photobucket

Wall two...my body...
Why me? Several things come to mind to here. After this twins, my thyroid went haywire...I have to take medicine for the rest of my life b/c of my thyroid or I will eventually die. Every 3 months I go to the doctor to get my blood checked and blah blah.... it's a pain. And now my doctor thinks I may be going through menopause at 31!!!! Seriously?!! Than there is my weight... sure I lost 30 pounds, but I'm stuck... I went to the gym even though I hated it...I went faithfully and didn't drop 2 pounds... so fuck the gym...I have a cute face right?

Photobucket

Wall three... work... I want to work!!!
How? It takes forever to get the kids in for physicals to register them with CYS so I can get them in some after school program..than I actually have to find a job in this shitty town!! This would be a great time to live at Fort Hood right now...more options LOL....maybe I can be a peddler...

Photobucket

Wall four... the love of my life...
Well, can't go into detail there... but that wall is the heaviest...crumbling down on me....

So there's my superwoman falling apart...it's happens to us all at some point, right?

My opinion on the Pay Freeze *warning- may include foul language, may hurt your feelings*

Let me start with a quote from Army Times-

"A three-year freeze on basic pay and military housing and food allowances is among 58 recommendations contained in the draft report of President Obama’s National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform that was released Wednesday."

Let's break this down some...

It says "among 58 recommendations"...what are recommendations?

rec·om·men·da·tion –
1. an act of recommending.
2. a letter or the like recommending a person or thing.
3. representation in favor of a person or thing.
4. anything that serves to recommend a person or thing, or induce acceptance or favor.

So, it is correct to assume that this won't even happen right? This is only a recommendation by...here it comes...wait for it..President Obama himself? NO! So stop blaming him for everything!! It was recommended by President Obama’s National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform. Now, what do they do exactly? What is their job? Do you know? No? Let me shed some light for you...

President Obama created the bipartisan National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform to address our nation's fiscal challenges. The Commission is charged with identifying policies to improve the fiscal situation in the medium term and to achieve fiscal sustainability over the long run. Fiscalcommission.gov

Here is a list of the member if you care to look, but I doubt you're really that interested since you will only blame Presdient Obama anyway, but just incase you're curious... Commission Members

And look, here are their meetings! Commission Meetings

I'd like to point out certain parts of the Charter if I may and I will link it when I'm done as well...

3. Objectives and Scope of Activities. The objective of the Commission is to identify to the President policies to improve the fiscal situation in the medium term and to achieve fiscal sustainability over the long run.

4. Description of Duties. The functions of the Commission are advisory only.

For more info on the Charter click here!

Don't forget to read the By Laws too!

((welll would ya look at that?! hot damn!))

So, are you Military wives only complaining b/c this about the pay? Here's how I look at it.... at least my husband is getting paid!!! He didn't lose his job, did he? How many people out there are just dying to get jobs? How many are military spouses? Instead of bitching and complaining about something that was RECOMMENDED to the President, get off your ungrateful ass and do something about it!!

What happens if this goes through? How are you going to act? Be pissed off and shout all over facebook will not be the answer. Get your ass out there and take advantage of classes by the ACS on budgeting and such. Get your ass out and get a damned job... who care if it's working Burger King? Are you beneath that because your husband is a soldier? I think not. Any thing you do to help financially contribute to your house would be appreciated by your spouse I'm sure.

We are not exempt from helping this country get better solely because we live the military lifestyle and our loved ones serves. I am disheartened at the amount of people in this life style are angry and bitter....maybe they need to take it back to Jesus... but that is another post =)

Lil Ole Me =) Part 2

Some more questions about me =)
If you missed the first part CLICK HERE.

Who are you?
Well, first and most importantly, I'm a mother... to 3 kids whom I love with all my heart, even on their bad days lol... I am a wife of a soldier, who has my undying love and support no matter where he is in the world, although I like it most when he is here with me....

If you could have any job, what would it be?
I love kids and when I was younger I wanted to be a Child Psychologist and I would still love to do that. However, I'm also unfortunately very sensitive when it comes to kids. I never persued that dream because I don't believe I would be able to handle it. Even though I want to help kids, I don't think I'm mentally strong enough to handle that job. That's why I went to school for Accounting LOL...

Advice for a new mom?
The most important advice I can give is to FOLLOW YOUR INSTINCT!! When you feel like something isn't right with your child, you go with it. For example: I knew something was wrong with my son and that what he had was not just a normal cold. My husband insisted he was fine and he would be better in a few days. I listened to him and just kept giving him tylenol and decongestant. After 2 days, I took him to the ER and it turns out he had pneumonia! I should have followed my gut. There was another time when I saw something in my son's ear. I took him to the doctor that day and the woman who was filling in for his regular doctor said she didn't see anything. I knew something was there, so I asked to speak to the other doctor on duty and he found it right away. It was a tiny birdseed and could have caused my son to go deaf. So, follow your gut when it comes to your child!

How do you keep things "alive" with your hubby so you don't drive away from eachother?
We love webcam and we talk often... "Sexy" pictures... we've never really had a problem not having that "alive" feeling.

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in South Jersey and lived there too until I was in my early 20's when he joined the army and we went off to Kansas.

What is your favorite color?
Purple...always...lol

What is your favorite home cooked meal?
I think I'm going to go with roast, potatoes and corn. I love the potatoes that are cooked with the roast, nummy in my tummy!! I like baby carrots with it too.

Do you have any crafts/hobbies?
I really wish I was crafty. I have been thinking of trying to get into something and try to make money with it, I just don't know what yet. As for hobbies, I love books! I love to read and I have several books I have read tons of times! I also love to color! LOL, I know that is kind of "childish", but you're never to old to color right?

How do you make time fly by when your hubby is away with training or deployment?

I have 3 kids so that really helps. I also have my friends who keep me busy and keep sane! For a bit I had my school work, but that is done now and after my hubby's block leave when he returns, I will be looking for a job. Besides, my kids and friends and the housework, I have my blog and my Facebook page, *Army Wives Do It With Hooah*.

When did you first know you were in love with Darrell?
One day after school, he came over with a friend. He wanted me to come with him because him and his friend wanted to cook me and his friends gf dinner. I was in a big over-sized shirt with sweat pants and pink grippie socks and I said I needed to get changed. He told me I was beautiful the way I was. I knew that moment, I was in love with him.

Toesies or regular socks?

We all have one...

The demon
he comes for me
in shadows
in whispers
when I doubt myself
the demon is there
he talks to me
tells me what I’m not
tells me what I should be
it’s never right
it’s never enough
he pushes me
he pulls me
the demon is winning….

Encouraging eachother -

A lot of posts lately from the inbox on AWDIWH have been about men cheating on their wives, or the wives are suspicious of them cheating, or of men lying about small things or even big things such as texting other women even when there is proof to blow them right out of the water.

These kind of things in relationships almost always cause insecurities in women. There are other things that will cause insecurities too. Maybe when you were growing up someone made of you and said your nose was pointy (like me), or that your boobs were too big (like my friend), or maybe your hair wasn't the cutest color and someone made sure they let you know they thought that. Maybe your teacher said in subtle ways that you weren't the brightest in the class. The list goes on...

I completely believe insecurities are LEARNED, but I also believe that they can be UNLEARNED. Do you love yourself? I mean truly, unconditionally love yourself? If you don't, you need to.

When you wake up every day, look in the mirror and say, "hey gorgeous! you're gonna have a great day!". If your husband happens to be there and asks who you're speaking to just tell him, "the most important person in my life". Ultimately, you should be the most important person in your life. If you don't put yourself first and take care of you, you won't be able to properly take care of others.

If you don't like your hair, take control and go get it done! Do something different with it. A new cut or color. A small change can make a difference. If you are unhappy with your weight, get out there and exercise! Even if you just start out walking, it's better than nothing. If you feel you aren't smart enough, take a class and learn a new language or hobby.

Let's encourage other women to feel great about themselves! Tell your friends what you like about them. Send them an encouraging quote or an inspirational picture. Mail out a "just because" card and let a wonderful woman in your life know you are thinking of them and they are fabulous!! When we uplift others, we will also uplift ourselves...

Everyone has inside them a piece of good news. The good news is you don't know how great you can be! How much you can love! What you can accomplish! And what your potential is!

Five Little Turkeys

Five Little Turkeys

Five little turkeys standing at the door,
One waddled off, and then there were four.

Four little turkeys sitting near a tree,
One waddled off , and then there were three.

Three little turkeys with nothing to do,
One waddled off, and then there were two.

Two little turkeys in the morning sun,
One waddled off, and then there was one.

One little turkey better run away,
For soon it will be Thanksgiving Day.

Saturday morning blues...

I can't say it's really morning now since it's 12:10 as I write this... the house is quite because the kids are out playing and I'm sipping on some coffee and eating fried potatoes.. This morning has been one of those "ugh" mornings... granted I got to talk to the hubs but the end of this deployment is dragging ass!!

After talking to the hubster, I got a text from a friend who thinks her hubs might miss Thanksgiving by a day or have to leave the day of to return back from R&R. That sucks. Now, I know they can have Thanksgiving dinner early, but that it isn't the point, it still sucks. And than I see another friend had some bad news that obviously had to do with her hubby. Don't know what, but either way, my heart is heavy for her. I hate when my friends upset, especially when there is nothing I can do to help fix the situation.

Stubborn, like mother like daughter ~

My darling Pookie has been working my last nerve! Her hair is wild and she absolutely hates getting it done. She likes to let if fro out or put it in a low pony tail at the back of her head. Now, while I don't mind her expressing how she wants to keep her hair, I wish she would bend some and not protest when I try to do it!

She is a stubborn child, just like me. I don't know if that's a good thing, or a bad thing, haha...
